Metrolina Control Line Society Meeting Minutes from 1 August 2026

Metrolina Control Line Society (MCLS) held their regular monthly meeting at the Waymer Flying Field in Huntersville, NC. The upper circle got some needed maintenance by weed eating, blowing clear and spraying for weeds. Fire ant treatment was also accomplished. The club provided a pizza lunch for those in attendance. Oh yeah, there was flying too!

The following were in attendance: Will Davis,Don Jenkins, James Duckworth, Gustavo Urtubey, Everett and Jo Shoemaker, Tommy Luper, Phil Bailey, Steven Soble, Charra Reeves , David, Wesley and Conner Smith.

The meeting was brought to order at 1:57 PM

Financial Report:

The club remains financially stable and has the funds available to supportcontrol line modeling for another year. The meeting minutes from our meeting in June 2026 were read and approvedby those in attendance.

President’s Report:

1. If you fly at Waymer Field, purchase a park pass and join PAMPA! PAMPA has new Web Site. Pampacl.org

2. No new issues from the WACAMA Board.

3. Here is a listing of upcoming contests and events:

• Smithfield ,NC Contest 4, 5 and 6 Sept

• MCLS 45th Anniversary Contest at Huntersville, 19 September

• Contest at Canton, GA, 2-4 October

• Ringmaster Fly-a-thon, 3 and 4 October

• King Orange International at McAlpin, FL, 23-25 October

Old Business:

1. The US Nations is in the books and Wesley Smith is the reigning National Junior Champion for the second year! Congrats for a job well done!

New Business:

1. Three of Larry Scarinzi’s models were added to the AMA Museum during the US Nationals in July. The Blue Angel, Sky Devil and Super Satan.

2. The Waymer Flying Field will be hosting an F2D Combat contest on March 5-7, 2027.

3. MCLS will hold their Annual ½ A Day this Fall, the date is yet to be determined.

4. We will have a field workday at our next meeting to clean up the lower asphalt circle to support the September 19th contest. Bring a weed trimmer if you have one.

5. The trophies for the September contest were voted on and the vintage fuel tanks with placards will be ready for presentation.

6. The next club meeting will be held at Waymer Field on 22 August.
